Item description:
A pillow made from an antique yastik (Turkish for cushion), now fitted with a cotton velvet back, zipper and muslin bag with fill. the yastik was made by hand in an Anatolia village about one hundred years ago. The pile is deep and soft. The palette is a mix of vegetable and mineral dyes typical of that period. The bright red is a natural cochineal dye, typical of Anatolia.
